Lonza's Hopkinton, Massachusetts, facility is located just outside of Boston, and offers a wide range of cGMP manufacturing and process development services for microbially derived products.
The Hopkinton site originally existed as a biotechnology company called Seragen and eventually entered the contract manufacturing market in 1997. Cambrex then purchased the site at the end of 2001 where the site continued to build the successful track record that exists today. The facility became a part of Lonza's worldwide infrastructure following the acquisition of Cambrex's bio-businesses in 2007.
The Hopkinton site is an experienced cGMP site having produced over 450 commercial lots. With Hopkinton’s professionalism and experience comes a reliability that customers appreciate, which is evidenced by the fact that customers routinely return for subsequent projects.

Hopkinton excels in the niche market for transgenic milk purification. In fact Hopkinton was the first, and currently the only, licensed facility in the world for the purification of a significnant commercial product originating from a transgenic source. |
